Posted on Friday, June 07, 2013 by "T".

It's been quiet from Viktor "Isildur1" Blom since he took down the SCOOP 2013 Main Event in the end of May. Well, that was until yesterday when he took on Gus Hansen at the 2-7 Triple Draw and the FLO8 tables. They started the session at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables and "The Great Dane" took the young Swede for about $100k until things took a big turn...

Gus Hansen returns to Macau

Tags: gus hansen, high stakes, macau, sam trickett, tom drawn
Posted on Thursday, March 29, 2012 by "T".

According to a Danish poker news site, Gus Hansen has once again returned to Macau and joined players such as Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Sam "tri1cky7" Trickett in games where millions of dollars can change owner in just a single hand.

The Danish news site has been in contact with Hansen ever since he arrived in Macau and they report that he has played in games as high as $1,3000/$2,600 with a $5,000 straddle. But things haven't gone so well for Mr. Hansen so far. A big chunk of Gus's losses is due to a hand against Tom Dwan in which he failed to bluff with a HK$1.7 million bet on the river.

High Stakes: Hansen and Trickett back in Macau

Tags: gus hansen, high stakes, macau, sam trickett
Posted on Monday, February 06, 2012 by "T".

Gus Hansen and Sam Trickett are both back in Macau and apparently there are some massive games up running at the moment. According to Hansen's blog, he lost a massive 12 million Hong Kong dollar pot (about 1.55 USD) in one of these games.

"As expected my second session here in Macau was a bit more ‘swingy' than the first one. Unfortunately ‘The Swinger Party' was somewhat expensive as I rarely had the best hand at the river and tried one too many bluffs! I am currently playing my third session here in Macau and things were looking mighty fine until a 6 handed pre-flop pot turned into a 12 million (Hong Kong$) heads-up battle. As the smart reader has already figured out - I didn't win it "

Another week of high stakes action is now in the books. Gus Hansen and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom ended up being the 2 biggest winners at Full Tilt and PokerStars nosebleed tables. It was well-needed win for the Team PokerStars Pro Viktor Blom who managed to reduce his loses this year to "only" $100,000.

Gus Hansen, the Danish Full Tilt Pro, increased his lead on the yearly leaderboard. In total Gus has now won $3,513,550 this year - $1,5 million more than his closest opponents gavz101 ($1,996,983) and jungleman12 ($1,952,994).

High Stakes: Hansen dominated last week

Even though the end of last week's high stakes games fell into the shadows of the news that F.B.I. closed down PokerStars, Full Tilt and Absolute Poker in the US, there were still some quite interesting high stake games running at Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars.

Gus Hansen, the Danish Full Tilt Pro, is one of the players we could thank that for! Even though it must have been a very stressful week for him as a part owner in Full Tilt Poker, he still managed to keep a cool head and play his very best game. At the end of the week, Gus had won almost $1,4 million in just about 10,000 hands and was by far the biggest winner online.

HIGH STAKES: Phil Ivey wins $1,5 million - in just one week!

At the end of last week the American poker pro Phil Ivey had a really good run at Full Tilt's nosebleed tables. It was in a session against Scott "urnotindangr" Palmer and Dan "Jungleman12" Cates that Phil Ivey won big. When Ivey decided to call it a day, he had won not less than $1,497,482! A huge win even for the biggest pros!

Another player that did very well last week was Gus Hansen. Gus won almost half a million dollars and has now won about $3 million dollars this year! Well, even though it's a huge amount of money, it still doesn't make up for all the money he has lost over the past few years.

2010's biggest winner online, Daniel "Jungleman12" Cates, had a rough week at PokerStars and Full Tilt's poker tables last week. At Full Tilt Poker he lost $443,00 (only Also11 lost more -$450k) and at PokerStars about $50,000 in thrilling heads-up match (SuperStar Showdown) against Viktor "Isildur1" Blom.

The Danish poker pro Gus Hansen, who was one of 2010's biggest losers online, ended up being last week's biggest winner online. Gus managed to win not less than $650k in just about 1200 hands. It will be interesting to see if he can keep up the good game this week as well.

After summarizing last week's high stakes games, Gus Hansen is the biggest winner once again. Gus won $425k last week and is now up almost $1.9 million dollars in the past 30 days. We can only hope that his winning streak ain't over yet - assuming that he wants to win back the millions he has lost in the past few years.

Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies lost almost $640,000 last week, and once again he ended up being the biggest losers online. Many of his fans are now claiming that he's running out of money. Let's hope that those rumors are false because the high stakes scene needs Ilari Sahamies!

High Stakes: Gus Hansen won big against Ziigmund and DrugsOrMe

The danish poker pro Gus Hansen has really been running good at Full Tilt's nosebleed tables in the past few weeks. Yesterday, he took on the finnish poker pro Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies and DrugsOrMe in a $500/$1000 PLO Cap game.

Both and Ziigmund and DrugsOrMe left the table a few hours later with six-figure losses. After this Gus Hansen won $55k in a shorter session of 7-game poker. Gus has won over $2 million in the last four weeks, now he "only" needs to win another $1.5 million before he's even for the year.

High Stakes: Gus Hansen wins big - again!

It seems like Gus Hansen has found his very best game again, and for the second week in a row, he's the biggest winner online. $665k, that's how much "The Great Dane" won last week to become the biggest winner - no other player was even close of winning as much. We can only hope that Gus' winning streak continues and that he win back some more of what he has lost in the past couple of years.

Di "Urindanger" Dang, the american poker pro, has been running quite bad lately, however, last week was a nightmare week for him as he lost over half a million dollars. But "Urindanger" was not the only one who lost big last week. Rami "arbianight" Bouka, also from US, had a cold week at the poker tables and he ended up losing $275k.

High Stakes: Gus Hansen is last week's biggest winner ($679k)

Is Gus Hansen's losing streak finally over!? Well, that's what many think after seeing him do extremely well last week at Full Tilt's nosebleed tables. It was a new Gus Hansen we got to see, a Gus Hansen who did few mistakes and never went on tilt. Gus couldn't complain about any bad beats either. The poker gods simply were on his side (for once) and there were never any doubts whatsoever that he would become anything else than the biggest winner online.

It will be interesting to see if Gus Hansen can keep up the good game this week as well. He needs to win big almost every week from now if he wants to win back all the millions of dollars he has lost over the past few year. Well, nothing is impossible in the poker world.
