Also, if you are curious to know more about the lady in the video, then we recommend that you read Daniel Negreanu's New Girlfriend.
In case you missed our article on July 16, Paul "MalACEsia" Phua and another seven people were arrested by FBI agents at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas about 2 weeks ago for allegedly taking part in an illegal betting operation. Two-time Oscar winner George Clooney was in Las Vegas about two weeks ago to promote his Casamigos tequila. During his stay there he and some of his business partners had dinner at Botero (a luxurious restaurant inside Wynn's Encore hotel) with hotel-casino developer Steve Wynn and his wife Andrea. However, what probably was intended to be a nice and relaxed business dinner ended with a heated argument between Wynn and Clooney.

The dealer informed the floor manager, who in turn asked security to check the cameras. They quickly found out that three-time WSOP bracelet winner Chau Giang, 58, was the man behind the crime.

Last week, we wrote that Revel Casino-Hotel in Atlantic City would close its poker room in August as it wasn't profitiable enough. Now another casino has closed its poker room. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, The M Resort (a casino off the strip in Las Vegas) has closed its 14-table poker room to make space for a slot machine tournament area. Apparently the poker room didn't do as well as the slot machine tournaments that usually attracted 800 players to the ballroom, which was way too small.
Currently tournaments are held in a ballroom and with the new area, guests will be able to play on our floor with better access to our amenities and easy access to self-parking," a spokeswomen for the casino said.
Although M Resort has closed its poker room, they still plan to host poker events, such as the Hollywood Poker Open, a $500,000 guarantee tournament that attracted 631 players in June ($1,423,062 prize pool) and was won by Spanish poker pro Ana Marquez.

Other big stacks include Brandon Steven (1,091,000), Matt Hyman (1,042,000), Hyon Kim (891,000), and Alex Phahurat (878,000).
Not familiar with any of the names above? Don't worry! Poker stars such as Dan Shak (698,000), Jason Mercier (583,000), Erick Lindgren (467,000), Jake Cody (365,000) and Daniel Negreanu (329,000) will return to play tonight and battle it out for a seat at tomorrow's final table - where a first prize of $1,150,297 is up for the grabs!

Roth (in the middle of the picture) spent months reclaiming his funds, which were spread around several poker sites. Although he recovered most of his money and graduated in 2012 with a degree in finance - his life never became what it once was.
It's a fact that David "Viffer" Peat and Shawn "Sheikh" Sheikhan (both well-known from GSN's High Stakes Poker) don't like each other. About 2 years ago the two created headlines when they started fighting during a tournament in Las Vegas. Now history has repeated itself...
On Wednesday, Barry "the Robin Hood of poker" Greenstein posted a blog on traveling to find the best games in poker. Barry wrote that he hasn't been traveling much as of late and as a result of that he has missed out on many good games.
"One of the things that I haven't done recently as much as I should have is travel to play in good games. When I was younger and single, if there was a good poker situation I found out where it was and went there, because I was free to travel. I just hopped on a plane, had some contacts, and got in the game.

"What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" is a cliché that probably most people have heard of sometime in their life. Luckily this unwritten law didn't stop the following story from reaching the newspapers.
Back on September 2, the 42-year-old taxi driver Adam Woldemarim was cleaning out the back seat of his van before the start of his 2 p.m. shift when he found something between the seats. It was a black soft laptop case that was stuffed with $221,510.

In a recent interview, the 78-year-old poker legend Doyle Brunson revealed that he lost his scooter when leaving the Rio (Las Vegas) early in the morning after Day 1 of the Main Event.
"It flew off the lift on my Escalade as I was leaving the Rio after day 1 of the Main Event. It was about 2 o'clock in the morning and as I made a sharp left on Flamingo I heard a strange noise behind me. I looked back and couldn't see anything but I suspected my scooter had broken loose. The traffic was so bad I couldn't turn back, so I continued home where I could see the lift had malfunctioned and the scooter was gone." said Doyle Brunson

It will be really fun! I feel really happy that I get the chance of going there, but it sucks that it's during the summer."
The third day of the WPT World Championship has come to and end with about 45 players (WPT is still verifying the number of players). Michael Mizrachi, who lead the way into Day 3 with 428k, is among the players who are through to Day 4.
But he will "only" bring 171,700 chips to the tables when play continues again today. Isaac Haxton was in 5th place when the day started, but unfortunately nothing worked out for the American High-Stakes Pro as he was eliminated during the day.

Money keeps on rolling in the gambling capital of the world, Las Vegas. And still there are no signs that Black Friday has harmed the poker scene over there since, for example, the 2011 WSOP saw many record fields and cash games - all over town - were running hot around the clock. Apart from that many poker rooms are doing well right now, the hotels and casinos (many of them offers poker tournaments and cash games) are also doing very well. As a result of the good financial times in Vegas lately new hotels and casinos are being built while some are being refurbished for huge amounts.
One of the latest hotels to undergo a facelift is the classic Bellagio on the strip. The owners of Bellagio have invested $70,000,0000 to refurbish 2500 rooms in the main building. 500 of the rooms are already finished and in use. Every room has mattresses in Kashmir and a 40' flatscreen TV. If everything goes according to the plan the refurbishment should be done mid December.
A lot of people were surprised when they read in Doyle Brunson's latest blog that he's considering to hit the road and move from Las Vegas to California. What surprised people even more was that the reason Doyle is considering to move is because of poker. Yes, Doyle thinks that there aren't enough high-limit games to suit him.
"Las Vegas is becoming more and more a not very desirable place for a poker pro to live. There are simply isn't very many high limit games anywhere. What's with the economy, the world wide tournaments, and the internet poker, the outlook for live cash games are bleak. Poker is on the verge of making a very significant change and in my opinion very bad change. I'm considering moving to California; at least there are a few mid level games that are played regularly", writes Doyle Brunson in his blog.
It's finally time for another stop on the WPT tour - WPT Festa al Lago. WPT Festa al Lago will be going on for 6 days and the main event final table will be played next Wednesday.
There are lots of side events for those who don't do so well in the main event or simply decide not to play it. For some strange reason there is no high roller event this time, but the WPT crew has promised many $5,000 events.

The businessman Terrance Watanabe has lost more money at a commercial casino than anyone else has ever done before - according to professor and gambling expert William Thompson at University of Nevada. As you probably already have figured out, it's not small amounts we're talking about here. Terrance Watanabe has lost $204 million in just 1 year at different casinos in Las Vegas. Not enough with that. Terrance is now also risking 28 years behind bars for a false check he issued, in order to pay off his debts of 14.7 million dollars, to Harrah's casino Rio and Caesars Palace.
According to Terrance, he's not owe them anything as they had promised to give him a 30% discount on everything he lost. Terrance has also opened a civil rights case against Harrah's. He claims that they have been giving him prescription drugs, alcohol and other things to keep him happy while losing millions of dollars. However, he has accepted the fact that he has a problem with his gambling and he doesn't want any of the money he lost back.
We will probably hear more about this very soon as the case will be up in court on the 12th of June.

Chino Reem was the one who knocked out Phil Ivey from the tournament, and Larry Litton won the tournament and got to play against Phil Ivey. However, he didn't manage to beat Phil Ivey heads up. We will probably hear a lot more about The Ivey Room during the 2010 WSOP.
